Questions, terms and where to ask about a model fit
Terms explained, short answers to common model-fit questions, and who to contact when something goes wrong with an order or with this site.
Terms that come up in add-on listings
A short glossary of the words this site and add-on listings use. Some are device terms, some are shopping-agent jargon you will meet in buying forums.
- Model number
- The code for one device body, used by add-on makers. Not the same as the family name.
- Part or product number
- Model plus color, storage and market; good for finding a spec page.
- Generation
- A numbered or dated version of a device family. Covers and bands often change with it.
- Suffix
- The word or letter after the family name: Pro, Plus, Max, mini, Lite and similar.
- Cut-out
- An opening in a case or film for a camera, key, port or sensor.
- Case size
- For watches, the case measured in millimeters, often engraved on the back.
- Connector
- How a band meets a watch, or the port shape a cable or cover is made for.
- Nozzle
- The part of an earbud a tip clips onto.
- Revision
- A later build of a device sold under the same model number.
- Stock-in photos
- The pictures 100buy’s warehouse takes when goods arrive; also called QC photos.
- GL and RL
- Shorthand from buying forums. GL, green light, is the go-ahead once you have seen the warehouse photos; RL, red light, is the refusal.
Model-fit answers, in short
Questions that come up again and again with device add-ons, answered briefly. Each links to the page with the detail.
These are the frequently asked ones, kept short on purpose.
My device has two numbers in settings. Which one goes in my fit note?
The model number. On some phones the first code you see is a part number; one maker explains that tapping it shows the model number. Note both if you like, but match listings against the model.
A listing names my phone, but in a slightly different spelling. Is that a problem?
Not by itself. Sellers abbreviate and drop spaces. What matters is the suffix: a missing “Pro” or an added “Max” changes the body. Read the option photo to confirm.
Will 100buy tell me if the case is for the wrong model?
Do not count on it. Its inspection notes say the model of electronic and digital items, peripherals included, is not something the warehouse checks. A close-up of the packaging label, requested with the order, is how you see it yourself.
The watch band options say 42mm. My watch says 42mm. Done?
Not yet. One watch maker groups 42mm bands with its larger cases, while its recent watches use 42mm for the smaller case. Check the generation on the option or the size chart. The wearables page explains.
Is a cover for my earbuds also a cover for my earbuds’ newer case?
Usually not. Covers follow the charging case: port shape, light position, speaker holes, lanyard loop. One earbud name has shipped with several cases.
My laptop is a 14-inch model. Do I buy a 14-inch sleeve?
Compare the sleeve’s inside size with your laptop’s body size instead. The 14 inches measure the display diagonal.
Can I open a screen protector to check it and send it back if it is wrong?
Treat that as unlikely. 100buy’s return page holds opened sealed products to a separate standard. Check the label photo before opening.
Why does this site never say whether an add-on fits?
Because nobody here has the device and the add-on together. The site shows what to compare; the comparison is yours.
Is this 100buy’s own site?
No. It is an independent site that happens to sit on a domain with 100buy in it. See the about page.
Where to ask when something goes wrong
Need help with a specific order? This site cannot see or change orders; only 100buy can. Before you pay, put questions about which option fits to the seller through 100buy. After the goods reach the warehouse, raise anything about what arrived with 100buy itself; its contact details are on the about page, one line, as 100buy publishes them.
For help with a purchase, contact 100buy through your official account. This guide cannot access orders.
Whoever you write to about a fit, include the full model number, the option name you chose and a photo of the label if you have one. A message with those three things gets a useful answer; a message saying only that the case does not fit gets a question back.
